Over the weekend one of the borders in our garden was emptied and compost and soil improver added. Some of the plants will be replanted in the bed, others will be moved elsewhere in the garden. Today the border was left to settle, so we headed off to Hidcote in search of inspiration. The garden there was looking very end of season. Several of the borders have already been cleared. Some of the paths were closed off to allow work to take place, so we kept encountering dead ends. I have no idea what this plant is, but it features in quite a few National Trust gardens.
My mother in law called this a pincushion plant... you can see why. No idea what its real name is but I love the way you've captured the shape and detail :)
