Stars and Ice

Even though the puddle (my January photo subject) dried up, it left behind these star shaped designs and two tiny patches of frozen water. One of the ice pieces was two inches by one inch at the largest. The other ice piece was much smaller. It was too cold for me to stay outside long enough to accurately measure the ice pieces. By the late afternoon, the ice had melted and the teeny water pools were missing from the area where the puddle used to be. We are supposed to receive rain tomorrow. If the puddle fills back up with water, you might see one more puddle photo before I start the Flash of Red 2015 Challenge in February (BW photos with one selective coloring photo).
Looks like a fossil site! Better get the archeologists in!

So interesting what you can see if you look closely. I agree with Maggiemae it does look like a fossil.
