Winter crystals by daisymiller

Winter crystals

We had some wintry precipitation yesterday. It started out with a light rain drizzle. This changed to freezing rain, snow pellets and sleet. Finally, it began to snow. This morning, the ground was lightly covered with what looked like white, pointed crystals., The puddle only had a scattering of these crystals on it. The puddle was definitely frozen in layers upon layers of ice. It was difficult to always determine where the leaves and each ice layer started and ended. The blueness in this shot came from a reflection of the blue sky above.
This puddle sure has gone through many changes!
