July 6: Kay's

This building is affectionately known as "Kay's". The long name is Kay's Bridal and Tuxedo. Its former name was Kay's Crafts. When I moved to town, this building was known as the Montgomery and Ward Store. The building was built the same year (1936) as the building from yesterday. The buildings are almost across the street from each other. The Montgomery and Ward building was also built in the Art Deco architechrual style. The fake Egyptian motifs are an "M" and a "W" for Montgomery Ward.

This photo was taken on Saturday. It was too rainy and stormy to take outdoor pictures today. Whenever, I thought of going outside with my camera, I realized that I might become a human lightning rod. Since I did not want to be struck by lightning, I used this photo from yesterday.
I love to see well maintained old buildings. Glad you decided to stay indoors and post this instead. Lightning isn't worth playing in!
