July 12: The Family Fun Center

This is a building on the state fairgrounds. It is now called the family fun center. Families can come here during the state fair to cool down and participate in activities. There is a baby feeding and changing area, complete with rocking chairs and microwaves.

Prior to being the family fun center, this was the Future Farmers of America building. Prior to this, it was the Poutry Building. It has seen many changes since its opening in 1903. The Family Fun Center is named as being part of the historic building district on the fairgrounds.
Excellent picture and history! The fairgrounds are wonderful places of America and your description of how this building's use has evolved is a testament to the resilience of the fair. Fav!

@milaniet Yes, I am glad to see a building change to meet new needs. Too often, buildings are torn down when they oulive their original purpose.

@tonygig Thanks. I like the decorative touches to the roof of this building. Could they be lightning rods or could they be purely decorative?
