July 17: Cookie Cutter Balconies

Today, I went on a day trip to another city. The purpose of this trip was a routine doctor appointment. I wish the trip had been for pleasure, but that is life. On our way to the doctor's office, we passed by this apartment building. Each part of the apartment building is just like the other parts. The balconies on this building caught my eye today. They are "Romeo and Juliet" balconies with just enough room for a chair or two and perhaps a small barbecue unit. If I lived in one of these apartments, I know I would like to have the chance to sit outside and view the world. However, I would like my balcony to be a bit bigger than these balconies. These apartments are across the street from one of the colleges. There are at least two colleges and one university in this city. These apartments are very popular among the college students. Perhaps the students don't mind the size of the balconies, because they can live so close to their college campus.
The pov here is really good for this shot. Like the clean lines and the repetition. Again, perfect for b&w

@pyrrhula Thanks. The architecture of the apartment building is similar to the college buildings across the street.

Nice shot- if students are living here they probably don't use the balcony at all- they're always on the go! Good emphasis on the repetition and "cookie-cutter" appearance.
