July 25: Old Stained Glass

My eyes were caught by the intricate stained glass surrounded by the stone archway around the window. This window is found in the old Congregational Church. This downtown church building was built in the 1880s. The building was built in the Romanesque Revival style. I took pictures of the church building earlier this month (see July 5th in my 365 album). Today, I concentrated on the architectural details.
It does work in BW. Nice view point.

Beautiful window and setting for it. I'm much more a fan of this older style of architecture than todays. Nice shot.

Very pretty! The design looks somewhat random for the 1880's. Good eye to spot its beauty!

@lleo @linnypinny Thanks. I tried this POV to see if it would bring out the look of the stones around the window.

@olivetreeann Thanks. I find the style of the windows odd for the time period too. I wish I knew more about the history of this church building.

Gorgeous.

@daisymiller Most churches have a history of their building somewhere. I'd call and ask them. They'd probably be happy to tell you or direct you to someone who knows.
