I saved up a collection of items to show the change in seasons from Summer to Autumn. I kept thinking that I would need to have these as photo subjects on the rainy days when I could not get outside. However, I was able to get my daily shot each day without using any of these items. Today, I placed all of the items on the old patio table for the last photo in the 8th fortnight challenge to show the changes from Summer to Autumn.
The patio table will be painted in the next few days so it will be ready for another summer. The table currently has light spots and darke spots and rusty spots. The dark seed pods are from the black locust tree along the walking and biking trail. The seed pods have darkened as summer wanes. The twig with the leaves and one acorn fell off the oak tree in front of my house in a seasonal changer thunderstorm. The twig is casting its shadow onto the table. With the approach of Autumn, the shadows are getting longer in the morning. The cicadas have laid their eggs and are dying. I found this dead cicada when I was weeding the garden. I also found the dead monarch butterfly while weeding the garden. The monarch butterflies have been migrating to the south with the approach of Autumn. The seasons are definitely changing.
Yes definitely a feel of the seasons changing here too. Although I love Autumn it does seem to have come around quickly! A lovely selection of shapes and textures.
@olivetreeann Thanks! I did take photos of the individual elements of this still life, but I decided that this best showed the seasonal change from summer to Autumn. I quess I should put one of hte butterfly photos on here. It was abstract like.
