I am always finding little pieces of nature that I think will make good photo subjects. My friends and family members are used to my ever growing collection. Some even gather some nature pieces for me. When I was unable to get the reflection shot I wanted to get today due to a busy schedule, I chose the latest nature piece in my collection. This happens to be a leathery brown leaf. I thought this would be an easy subject to get a reflection with natural light. What seems easy is often times not easy. Ths was the case today. I placed the leaf on a mirror inside. There was not enough light there to use natural light. I placed the mirror outside on the back deck railing. The wind was too strong and I had to catch the leaf in mid flight. I carried the mirror and the leaf to the front porch. There was less wind there but the leaf rocked back and forth in the wind. I tried to shield the leaf from the wind with one hand and not get my hand into the shot. I tried to shoot between wind gusts. I was able to get two OK shots before the leaf sailed off with the wind. I was unable to catch the leaf this time and I had no idea where it is now. This not so easy photo subject did not stay long in my collection. At least, I got this BW image out of that challenging photo shoot.
