October 8: Autumn harvesters at the end of the day
While traveling home, I saw more of the corn harvest. As the daylight was beginning to fade, we had to come to a complete stop on the highway. Even though we had seen the signs about the harvest being underway and to drive carefully, we were still surprised by what we saw. One large farm truck had stopped the traffic going south. A pick up truck had stopped the traffic going north. As soon as these two harvesters had turned off the highway onto a country road, the two trucks followed the path of the harvesters. It was a very organized happening-one that probably occurs often as the harvesters travel from field to field. I thought it was fitting that I start the saga of my trip with a photo of a harvester and ended with a photo of harvesters. Yes, Autumn is definitely the time of harvest.
