Bird 1

Three white crowned sparrows have been visited my yard over the weekend. This one seemed fascinated by the dandelion seed heads. It would poke at each one, but I do not know if it ate any of the seeds. I don't see white crowned sparrows here often. I wonder if these sparrows will live here this summer or if they are migrating northward.

During the month of May, my plan is to shoot the pictures I need for the photo club monthly themes and for the photo contests I plan to enter. This photo is for September's photo club theme and possibly for the animal category of a photo contest (also in September).
Great idea - love that you plan ahead like that - that's my way of thinking, too. He sure is a cute little sparrow.

Sweet shot and looks like he was enjoying a salad of dandelions! Looks like a popular perch...nice catch.

@milaniet Thanks. I am usually not this organized with the photo club themes, but with my mother on hospice, I decided to get organized this May.

@maggiemae Thanks. I don't think the white crowned sparrow is all that rare. I just don't normally see it. Yes, I will enjoy the photographic work ahead.

@pyrrhula Thank you! I shoot my bird pictures through the house windows. I wish I had a bird blind so I could shoot the pictures even more close up.

He's making quite a pile there- but it doesn't look like he's been eating them.

@daisymiller There is always something to wish. I wish I have a telephoto lens so I can capture them .
