I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this butterfly. It is late in the season for butterflies. However, the daytime temperatures are pleasant. Soon, we will have that first freeze and I will have to wait until next year to see another butterfly.
I am really surprised at the butterflies posted today - I really thought they ought to be gone by November. It's kind of exciting to see one this late.
@milaniet I was excited to see this butterfly. I seems unusual to me to find butterflies this late. Of course, we have not yet had our first freeze yet. The freeze is late this year and that is OK with me.
@sangwann Thank you. I have been surprised to see butterflies and moths and other insects. It is late in the Autumn season. However, we have not yet had our first freeze yet and that makes a big difference this year.
I've seen a few flying insects here with the warmer temps, but the butterflies are definitely gone. So you did get a rare treat with this one. Nice shot!
