The First Snowfall by daisymiller

The First Snowfall

The temperature dropped. The wind blew. The rain changed to sleet and then to snow. It was cold with an even colder windchill that I stayed indoors to take pictures of the snow. I took this shot through the glass of the front door. The door kept fogging up, which gave this photo a bit of texture that I normally don't get.
It gives it a very moody effect. Enjoy your snow.

The grass is still green - the snow must be early. It really is a lovely photo especially when you couldn't get outside! Stay warm.

Thank you for the follow!

Nice to glimpse the house through the leaves and foggy window, very effective.

Some parts of our country did get the same amount of first snow . Great shot to show yours.

@eyesmile Thank you. I almost always like snow this time of year. I don't like it later in the winter (because I like warmer weather).

@stownsend Thanks! The snow was early. It is now melted except in just a few sheltered spots.

@maggiemae People definitely turned on the heat and lit the wood in their fireplaces during that cold snap. This house is one of the three houses across the street from mine.

@sangwann Thanks. I liked that atmospheric look too. However, I don't always want to have to wipe off the fog off that door to be able to shoot through it.

@paulaw Thank you. I chose to use the tree and its leaves for framing.

@pyrrhula Thank you. Parts of my country got a lot more snow than my part did. I am glad that we just got a little bit of the snow. I am not quite ready for snowy weather.
