At first, the junco were very shy. They would fly at every little noise. Now, they are getting used to me. This one even posed for me on the rail of the back deck of my house. The day was much warmer than an usual day in December. Notice the mud on the junco's feet. Another thing to note about this photo: The fallen tree leaves are curling up and getting smaller and smaller. There are two tiny leaf pieces between the bird's feet and the tip of its tail.
