Fluff by daisymiller

Fluff

One of the milkweed pods has been opening up with fluff. I cannot see any seeds.
Love the light on the fluff! It makes it look so delicate.

Neat capture of the light through that fluff - so wispy looking.

Isn't it incredible - looks like cotton seed! Why don't we use it?

@thewatersphotos Thank you. This is one that I photographed many times to get a good photo. The "fluff" might look delicate, but it has stood up well to the winter weather.

@milaniet Thank you. The "fluff" is indeed wispy. It often blew out of the camera frame in my attempts to photograph it.

@maggiemae I am not certain if this "fluff" has a use or not. I will look it up and then tell you if it has a use. This seed pod is from a native milkweed vine.

@pyrrhula Thank you for your comment and fav.

@maggiemae I did a quick google search. I did not come up with any human use of the milkweed fluff. However, I think that people could use it. It is mostly grown here for the butterflies. The monarch butterflies especially like milkweed plants.
