Trio of Brown by daisymiller

Trio of Brown

As the year changed from 2016 to 2017, I looked outside and saw grays and a lot of brown. These are not my favorite colors, but they are winter colors. I decided to concentrate on browns this January. I wanted to see if I could take my least favorite color and find beauty in this color. Sometimes, the brown has been the background color. Sometimes the brown has been the color of the main subject. In this shot, the three Rose of Sharon bush seed heads are brown and the bark of the branches is gray.

P.S. I posted my photos for January 30th a day late due to technical issues. The power supply blew in my computer. My son and his friend came to my rescue. I now have a new power supply, but one additional part is on order. I can use my computer, but I have to be really careful with how much I push it. Today, I was able to get my photos from the camera to the computer. Then, I was able to edit them with a bit of difficulty here and there.Tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully, my computer and I can do better tomorrow so I can comment on all of your wonderful photos. I really look forward to next week when the needed part can be installed on my computer. Then, I hope my computer will be back to 100% working capacity.

Such beauty in the dead of winter -- superb focus on these seed heads and beautiful muted soft colours in the background -- fav

@beryl Thank you for your comments and for your fav. I am hanging in there with my computer. I am learning that I have to treat it with a lot of care right now. I cannot push it too much or too fast. I am fortunate that my son and his friend were both free on the night that my computer decided to die.

@saskiah Thank you. I did not even realize that I followed the rule of 3's on this one, until I looked at it again and realized whey this one worked. Thank you for noticing that.

@jclaireyp Thank you. Until @saskiah and you brought up the rule of 3's, I did not notice that I had followed this rule. Now, I know why this shot worked. Thank you for noticing this.
