Winter Seed Pod by daisymiller

Winter Seed Pod

I still have several of these seed pods left in the winter garden. This shot is for the flash of red BW challenge. Since I have gotten some editing software loaded onto my computer, I will be concentrating on post processing BW images through February 28th. In editing this shot, I took the saturation to 0% and upped the brightness and contrast.
What lovely detail you've captured :)

It looks very prickly but being quite small may not be. The better the focus, the more sharp they have become!

Made a wonderful b&w - your eye really focuses on those little sharp tips.

@maggiemae Thank you for your comments. These seed heads can be prickly. It depends on how you pick them up.

@pyrrhula Thank you. I leave some of these seed heads in the garden each Autumn. I let the birds eat the seeds and then I enjoy photographing them.
