I planted six yellow tulip bulbs a few years ago. I now only have one tulip plant left. I bought the bulbs, because I thought the blossoms were unique. The buds are a light yellow. When they open up, they are a darker yellow. The color darkens until they are orange. Due to the speed in which the temperatures are rising and due to the winds, the blossoms are fading at the part yellow, part orange stage this year. I am thinking of buying and planting more bulbs like these, so I can have more of these beautiful tulips.
