August : Rain Clouds by daisymiller

August : Rain Clouds

These are part of the clouds that brought a pop up rain shower. The rain show did not last long, but it did cool down the temperature for a few minutes. When I placed this image on my computer screen, I noticed a tiny funnel cloud extending from the cloud on the left. Since my city can be hit by tornadoes, seeing that tiny funnel cloud was a bit disconcerting. The last tornado in my city did not kill anyone several years ago, but did destroy property. One of my friend's houses was destroyed. She lived in a hotel room for a little over a year until her house could be rebuilt. You can say that I did not like seeing that tiny funnel cloud! P.S. The funnel cloud does not look like much in the 365 project image.
Lovely cloud formations... Fav

@sangwann Thanks. We did not have a tornado or severe weather. This did show me though that we could get severe weather out of these sudden cloud outbursts.

Great cloud shot. I remember being at the shore one time having dinner out with my aunt and noticing a funnel shaped cloud forming near the ocean. It is disconcerting! Thankfully it dissipated as quickly as it formed.

@pyrrhula I wish I could send you some rain. These clouds only brought several minutes of rain. My area is in a drought. We need rain. The plants are beginning to die.

@olivetreeann Thank you. I have seen other funnel clouds that have lasted only several minutes. It is always disconcerting to see them.
