Sometime in college, I started being really hard on watches - non-waterproof watch under water, forgot to remove and got whacked with a raquetball (hard on the watch and the wrist), etc. As a result I started buying ridiculously cheap watches. I went into the store to replace a battery on my old watch, but came out with this one instead since it was cheaper than a new battery...
