This is the first fire truck owned by the city I live in. It is a 1942 Chevy Pumper that was purchased used by the city in 1963. I was amazed to learn that a town established in 1860 didn't have a fire department for over 100 years. The town was finally incorporated in 1973, so I suppose that makes sense for what must have been very rural for most of its history
