Barefoot Mailman

Going out of my comfort zone here and uploading a photo that sometimes I like and sometimes I don't. I went to my listing near the beach and actually got some nice photos that I really liked, but there are within my "norm". I saw this lady walking down the beach and impulsively photographed her. Feedback welcome.

Here is the reference to the Barefoot Mailman to those not from around here:

I am glad you explained the barefoot mailman. I am guessing you are uncomfortable photographing people? If that's the case, so am I. I feel as though I am intruding upon their privacy. I like your choice of making this sepia toned. It works well with this photograph!

@skipt07 Skip, I tend to take landscape photos. I was intimidated taking photos of people until I started being my church's photographer. Still, on my own, I take the safer, more comfortable shot. I haven't been doing much that isn't color but I didn't like the color of this one. Mid day light is harsh. I fiddled with it and left it on the screen as I left for an appt then returned 2 hrs later. My first glance approved, so I uploaded it. I have to push outside my comfort zone some days!

I like this. The composition is lovely and the processing suits it really well! Have you seen people in my photos....NO....that is so outside my comfort zone it will be a while! Good on you to go for this.

@ianwm54 Thanks, Ian!!

@lynnb Thanks, Lynn. In my mind, I already had taken the shot I was going to upload. I may upload it today since I am buried. If I hadn't already had "the one", I might have taken more time with this lady. Meter clock was ticking!

@bardejov Considering how good you are at incorporating people, I consider that a compliment!
