After messing with this for far too long tonight, I decided to use both words of the Dec12 list. This is one of my favorite pieces (I actually have a duplicate that stays up year round). As I opened the box, the Mom and girl tumbled out onto the hard floor. Needless to say, that isn't a good match for ceramic pieces. I glued the poor lady back together. It'll do.
Oh I hear you on the messing about with it! That's me too ;-)
How disappointing to end up breaking one of them. It's a lovely setting and that bokeh really adds the sparkle
Poor lady...still looks good :) I was gluing ornaments back together last night. My dog's tail acts as a baseball bat and they go flying across the room. Fortunately, they are hard plastic and easily fixed.
@tulipgirl Thanks, Alicia! I appreciate your comments.
@raineyday I know what you mean about the dog's tail! This year, ours is older and her tail is huge! I put part of the display at tail height (live and learn!).
@bardejov Yes. The Village is about 95% complete. I haven't had all the time to finish up the details. Photos soon!
@ariel817 Thanks! They were clean breaks and, after all, people do have broken legs, right? There are people who take their broken Village pieces and make houses on fires or other catastrophes. Duct tape...whatever works!
@bdb3471 Thanks so much, Brian. Was more challenging to get the one I wanted than I thought it would be.

I like the bokeh & your story!

Heh, we've got an ornament with duct tape on it, does that count as tacky or what?
