Our tradition for the last 12 years has been to set up this village which seems to get a little more intense each year. This is the main part of the village. There are three other small areas. I am finishing up the details of the last one. Close-ups to come, I am sure.
WOW - awesome display. Are those Dept 56 houses? How long have you been collecting them. I have 8 to 10 Snow Village houses and hope to get them up this weekend. Look forward to seeing some close ups
@lindaagne365 Yes, Linda, it is Snow Village. :-) I have a couple of pieces that are Alpine Village. We started collecting in 1999 when a friend gave us a gift certificate. My mom had been collecting a few (I now have some of her houses as she quit setting them up). We thought we'd just collect a few! I have a friend who has 300 houses. Oh my! His house is amazing! We had a new skirt made this year. Patting myself on the back for having someone hem it for me. One less thing to do.
I apologize for my delay in thanking all of you for your wonderful comments! We do love the village. I'm glad you all appreciate my efforts. I am glad I only rebuild it every few years. I will try to get this set up to last a while. Takes the most work to decide where to put things and cut the styrofoam to be as I want it. Since I am "visual", I have to play with it.
