Ruellia bud

With today's word being purple, the easiest capture is a Ruellia bud. I liked the bright noon day sun and how it washed out part of the flower.

I don't know what a Ruellia is, but it looks like a crocus when is breaks through the ground and blossoms.

@skipt07 Even though we don't have crocus here, I see what you mean. Ruellia is a bit of a pain of a plant. It is very pretty and blooms profusely. It's on "stalks" that will bend from the weight of the plant and then grow more roots. Therefore, it can be invasive and they don't suggest planting them anymore. I keep trimming mine back.
