I was showing a few houses. Fortunately one was located on this beautiful water. It is such a gorgeous day today. I had scared off the one bird, but then he found his lunch. Bonus was getting two birds in the shot!
Wow....at first I thought they were both Great Blue Herons, but the one with his meal is a Limpkin...found almost solely in Florida! I have never seen one before but he's a dead ringer for the photo in my bird book!
Great capture!
Thank you all for your comments. I am glad that I stayed. Sometimes the obvious is right in front of our face if we will just take the time to see it. I saw the Limpkin in front of my car and debated about staying to take a shot. I took a few "blah" shots and almost left. I decided to follow the bird and eventually I scared him off. But, he just flew a little bit away and then I saw the Heron! I watched as he rooted about in the water and sure enough, he found his lunch. If I'd been in a hurry, I would not have gotten this shot.
