Hiding Blue Jay by danette

Hiding Blue Jay

The Blue Jays must now be actively courting because they were sure singing loudly. I have a few other shots that show the Blue Jay more clearly, but I liked how you have to search for him here.

Apparently, it's hard to tell a male and female Blue Jay apart. There were two in the tree, but when they saw me, they flew off. I did learn that it's the female that flies off first and the males follow her!

I have an alternate view. http://365project.org/danette/extras
Beautiful focus on the Jay. I love the beautiful blossoms in the tree. Is this a peach tree?

@henrir It's a Pink Tabebuia tree. We don't have peach trees this far south. I liked how you had to look through the flowers to find the bird.

@elisasaeter Thank you, Elizabeth.

@mittens Thanks, Marilyn.

@lynnb I didn't know it, either. I saw the two birds and they weren't fighting so I thought I'd look up what a female looks like. That's when I learned about them.

@bkbinthecity I appreciate the birds fr coming to my tree!
