At our Friday night Easter service, communion was served. I am choosing to use this photo to represent today's word of Easter. We now use a container sealed with a wafer and "wine". I like the way this lady was holding hers and it is lit with the blue lights. Communion tells us that we worship the King of Kings. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
Thanks so much for your comments. I spent so much time at church this weekend and the photographs I take there will have a different purpose. I really liked this one, but you never know if others will. I thought it was touching.
We have never actually used bread and wine, @henrir. I think most Protestant churches don't (at least none I have been to). We have always used little cups of "wine" that can easily spill all over and a tray of wafers that everyone touches. I suppose in our area, we are more germophobic (I am not). Our church just started using these little packages. My husband was so pleased because last time I couldn't attend communion due to my surgery and he brought one home for me. I see in this photo that the lady has another in her hand and I wonder if she is doing the same.
