October is known for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There is also a tag for it. Dedicating this to my sister who has been in remission for nine years now. She actually dislikes the different pink campaigns, thinking they don't do much to find a cure. Much of it is superficial. Know who you are donating money to!
We are simply doing this to make people aware of what a horrible disease cancer is. I have to agree in part you do have to be careful where your money goes. With a lot of charities most of the money is spent on the organizers and a very small percentage actually goes to the cause. So do your research before you contribute to any charity.
@janiskay I applaud what you are doing on this site. I think it's great. I just know my sister has very strong opinions about one organization who was not at all helpful. Being visible and in front of people is always a good thing. No offense at all meant towards your tag, or I would not have participated.
