It takes a lot of manpower to set out 1000 lanterns!

I have been busy painting my mom's new bedroom this week. Glad that task is complete. Now, if we can just get rid of more stuff, she should be ready to move in! :-)
It is nice to see communities participating in events like this that aren't normally a part of our culture. It sure helps us to better understand other cultures. I know we as Americans have developed at style in honoring and remembering those near and dear to us on their passing. When you have a chance to participate in something like this I can only think that it might help some in dealing with your emotions. Americans tend to hold somber funerals while some other nationalities hold wakes where the deceased is celebrated. Those who profess Jesus Christ can celebrate the passing of a loved one knowing that they now have no more pain, no more tears as reside in the company of their Lord and Savior.
