Sacred Heart Catholic Church by danette

Sacred Heart Catholic Church

In the middle of downtown Tampa, among all the glass high rises, sits this gorgeous cathedral dedicated in 1905 after taking 7 years to build. It was breathtaking inside. Not a common type of church in Florida. It is the oldest Catholic church on the west coast of Florida.
I like the stonework and architecture - great capture!

I would love to see this and must remember to do so when in that area. You captured it beautifully.

@cimes1 I was disappointed in how my photos turned out. Maybe I will view them again on my monitor, as opposed to my laptop. It was a hard place to photograph.

We have a Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sharon, PA. which has a long history. Great job of capturing the detail in the stonework!

What a beautiful image and church! I'd love to be able to photo graph inside! A few years ago we visited a lot of churches in Italy and France, and I wish I knew then what I know now about photographing interiors!
