Caught my attention. People need some prayer. Please read.
While on the highway today, I saw this cross in the sky. It was a clear blue sky. It stayed that way for at least 5 minutes and I was compelled to take a photo and post it on Facebook.
Late tonight, my oldest son called to say I must have posted it for a reason. Within the last few days, there was a terrorist attack in Africa. I'd been busy and had not heard. Turns out, my daughter-in-law's uncle was on a flight to that African town and the pilot saw the explosions. He knew to land would be certain death, so he took off and they are holed up somewhere. The explosion killed one American, so we probably won't hear much about it. However, he was a local man who was a missionary from my cousin's church. He left behind a wife and children. You can see the wife's Facebook page at Amy Boyle Riddering.
Just saw this on Fox News...MIKE RIDDERING, an American missionary and orphanage director in Burkina Faso, was one of 28 who were killed in a terror attack at an upscale hotel in the country's capital.
Your photo, Danette was certainly eye-catching, and yes, I agree, we don't always understand what compels us to "take and share" , far beyond the kudos for an image! @photographycrazy Bill, thank you so much for fleshing out this story...I think Fox is the one station that will tell the stories that other's might sweep under the carpet. @taffy This world-wide connection we have truly does make us more mindful of the people we meet here and the extended circle that connects us all.
There's so much happening in this world that's incomprehensible and impossible to understand with rational thought..
@Weezilou You are so kindhearted! My son had made a little of a sarcastic response to my FB posting (not having to do with the cross) and my answer to him was that there are no coincidences. I think it hit him really hard to see how two things, seemingly disconnected, would happen around the same time. He shared it with his FIL and he was comforted by it. It's interesting how compelled I felt to take the photo...even driving 80 mph.
@danette I've had so many "coincidences" in my lifetime, that only the other day I began a list and thought I should put them in writing, if for no one else by my children (Ken's been witness to many of them!) As they seem to be increasing in number, I've a heightened awareness to "pay attention" as I feel as though I'm being directed to do so. In a way it sounds weird even as I write that down, but I feel you understand...
