Thanks to the Collings Foundation, a few WWII bombers have been restored and go on display around the country. This is the world's only restored B-24J "Liberator". Living history. You can even fly in one (with enough money). The "Witchcraft" name is to honor the 8th Air Force who flew in the European Theater during WWII. Witchcraft flew 130 combat missions and never had any crewmen injured or killed.
A lot of history on a set of wheels! I think I'd get a little claustrophobic being a gunner in one of these things! Makes you wonder how long it would take to get the feeling back into their legs after being in that cramped nose. I captured a B-25 going on two years ago. http://365project.org/skipt07/365/2014-05-19
@skipt07 Love your shot of the bomber. I didn't go inside the B-24. I did go inside the B-17. I could not believe how hard it was to: 1) get inside and 2) move from the front to the back. And that was while it was grounded! There was a little bitty catwalk that couldn't have been much wider than 6" in some areas.
