Took this in San Diego Monday evening. What an awesome visit. Unfortunately, just after we arrived (while we still were waiting for our luggage at the airport), Hurricane Matthew decided to take aim for our home. We had to cut our stay short and return home to button up the hatches. This is a vicious storm. And it may be a loop around and hit again next week. Though it may hit north of us, there are evacuations throughout Florida. Millions of people have been told to leave. Please pray for our state, Haiti (where over 100 people have died) and the Bahamas where news reports are just coming in.
Matthew looks like really bad news for the east coast. When I saw it was going to hit or brush along South Florida, I thought of you. I hope you guys stay safe and your house doesn't get damaged. Over in Tampa, we should be ok, except for some gusts and rain.
Hi Danette, wondering how you are doing down there. Windy in St Pete but not raining much..yet. Hope you came through ok and don't get hit on the second pass.
@peterday@mimiducky@jesperani@777margo@joansmor@chard Thanks, everyone for your kind thoughts. Matthew decided to take a slight jog to the east, sparing us the bad part of the storm. Wind and rain, which we can handle. We were buttoned up tight. I had joked with my husband last week when he started the generator that since it worked, we wouldn't need it.
What a shame that bad weather to the far east spoiled this lovely visit on the west coast! San Diego is one of our favorite cities...and you can see why!
