The power of water

I am always fascinated by waves. The good news (for us) is that the Tropical Storm has mostly passed us by. We have had considerable rain and some branches down, but fine. Praying the storm will not make landfall again. I read today that this pier suffered damage from the storm. They just built it a few years ago!
It must've changed since last night's news. I'm glad to know that! Stay safe and it's a beautiful shot of the waves' power!

@marlboromaam it changes with every update. It came ashore in the Keys, but we got more rain than they did. The lower Keys were lucky to be on the west side of the storm. It will go out to the Gulf now and then is supposed to make landfall in north Florida later this week. I hope not!

Oh my! The national news said the Keys received 16” of rain! This is a great capture of those waves.

Great shot. I started to go out to the beach, but just didn't make it out.

@rickster549 it was a challenge with the wind and rain!

Such powerful waves well captured in this photo! I thought about you yesterday as I was listening to the weather about the storm. Thankful the worst of it missed you. 2020 has had many devastating occurrences. Prayers that the coming year will find wildfires, hurricanes and pandemics at bay. You would think all this disaster would draw people together, but sadly, politics won't allow.

@calm We got a bunch of the rain, though. Just thankful that it was not a hurricane. The last time they said a tropical storm was coming and "not to worry", was when Hurricane Wilma walloped us in 2005.
