Just chilling

It's a good thing I was driving slow as it took a minute to realize this was an alligator in the road!
Omw, at least you kept your cool and got a fabulous shot with wonderful details.

@ludwigsdiana I stepped out of my car, but was a safe distance.

@thewatersphotos looked like a young gator...maybe 5’ or so. We were deep in the Everglades. I don’t ever see them in my area.

Wow, it looks like a big one, for sure. Great capture.

@koalagardens he would not have been pleased!

@redy4et the ones in the wild are actually afraid of humans. They are in or near water. If we give them space and treat them as wild animals, we will be okay.
November 18th, 2020
@marlboromaam yes. They don’t like people. This one won’t see many people in his location.

@onewing it was a surprise that he was just in the road, but they like to soak up the sun. They are cold blooded creatures.
November 18th, 2020
A bit too long to go between the wheels! Glad you missed it.
November 18th, 2020
Must have been cold :)
November 18th, 2020
Wow! Just chillin' or sloowwly making its way across?
November 18th, 2020
@rhoing Soaking up the sun. It's a very remote location. I think we were 5 miles off the paved road at this point.
