If I had a hammer by danette

If I had a hammer

The City is redoing all the chickee huts along the beach. They had a ton of palm fronds in the truck and on the ground. They would hand each one through a hole in the roof. There was plenty of supervision around. If the Seminole Indians install it, they don't need a building permit. It would be interesting to see how they attach those fronds because they sure hold up to storms.
Fascinating shot

@thewatersphotos it seems quite intense. The workmanship is amazing. Just looking at the number of fronds required is a lot of work..and these are still green.

How interesting! It does sound like painstaking workmanship!

It doesn't hurt that others besides the indigenous people learn how to do this! Given time, they may continue to improve! ..and this looks pretty good to me!

@Weezilou I think the supervisors were Seminole. Others learn, but people prefer to hire the best.
