On October 4, 2011, we received this amazing puppy who brought incredible joy to our lives. She was part Great Pyrenees and part Border Collie, making her super smart. She grew to be 100 pounds of love! Though I knew her time was getting short, just last week a specialist said she was healthy and a good candidate for surgery. The very next day, she couldn't complete our short morning walk without many rests. We took her to the vet yesterday to investigate the cause and it was determined that the cancer had either spread to her lungs or she had blood clots. She really was not able to breath well. We spent hours there. She was on oxygen all day, plus other meds, but no improvement. How could we selfishly take her home just to keep her a few more days? Still, putting a dog down makes me feel like a monster. I loved her so much and we are brokenhearted.
My heart breaks for you! So sad when we loose a member of our family! Our pets are like our children. I think you made the right decision as you would not have wanted her to suffer any more just for a few more days. Beautiful collage of wonderful memories! Big hug 🥰
Oh Danette, how absolutely heart breaking for you. It's always the downside of owning pets. Your collage is wonderful and such a testament to you care for her throughout her life. Hugs
I'm so sorry. It's such a tough choice, I know. I feel that you did the right thing though. I'm sure you gave her years of love, which is more than a lot of dogs get.
So sorry for your loss. I spoke of a friend who also just lost her dog. She told me she still feels the presence of her pet in the house and it gives her comfort.
Great memories you've created in the collage. So sorry for your loss. Know just how you feel. Had to put one down and it was so hard to see her go, but just couldn't stand to see her suffer any more.
This brought tears to my eyes! Ever so sorry about your loss, I can imagine how heartbroken you are. At least you had ten good years with your fur child a great collage filled with wonderful memories.
Oh Danette. I am so sorry about the loss of your sweet dog and faithful companion. A difficult decision but also a kind one to save her from pain. She will surely be mourned and missed. The time goes so fast.
My Sophie is now 14 and I dread the day, I too must make that difficult goodbye.
