The owl on the left is about to fly to their other burrow. These burrowing owls are so interesting to watch as they guard their homes. I try not to get too close, as they are protected. I thought it was interesting how his head looked so different than the other.
From the owls that I've seen, I would say that the one on the left is a juvenile and it just hasn't got all of the adult feathers. They really have a lot of fluff when they are little, and it gradually goes away. Great find and capture.
