When out in a boat, it always pays to watch the clouds building in a distance. I saw a video today of a boat 100 miles off the coast of Florida get hit with lightning. All of their electronics were fried. Fortunately, they were experienced boaters and had an emergency beacon to notify the Coast Guard.
