Dry creek bed by danette

Dry creek bed

Days before we arrived at Zion National Park, there was flash flooding, closing part of the park (they were in search of a hiker). I liked seeing some of the areas where the water runs during these downpours. One could certainly see the aftermath in some areas.
lovely lighting

Cool shot with the shadows in the rocky riverbed. Zion is such a magnificent park.

I hope that they found the hiker well!

@skipt07 they did not. The Narrows is a deadly place to be in a flash flood.

Love the light on the rocks… nice! On my last 4 Corners motorcycle trip in 2015 there was flash flooding the day before I drove through… the tight curves had so much mud and traffic and it was scary driving as slow as I had to go. Several hikers were missing during that incidence. That is pretty scary stuff. Did you hike Angel’s Landing?

@kvphoto Everything beyond the Grotto was closed due to the search. We also did not have the time for the longer hikes. The altitude was tough for me, too!
