Far from the Hurricane by danette

Far from the Hurricane

While Hurricane Idalia was far from us, we still received some effects. The evening the storm hit, the waves on our shore came in at a 45-degree angle. I have never seen that before! Lots of erosion, too. We were at least 200 miles from the storm.
Many people will be hurting for a long while. A number of counties are 100% without power. I will be going there next week to bring supplies. All donations are certainly helpful to these people in need.

Such a wonderful capture and beautiful scene, hard to believe how many had to suffer. I find it fabulous that someone supports those who have suffered.

@joemuli not for us. A friend tells me it'll be six weeks before power is fully restored in some areas.

Hurricanes can sure change coastlines. From what I’ve seen there was so much flooding! This is a lovely scene.

@rickster549 yes! There were more on the other side of the pier where the waves seemed bigger.
