On Saturday, we took Louise and Ken @Weezilou out in the middle of the Everglades. Drive an hour west of Miami. Not much out there! Turn left. 18 miles of dirt, pot holes, alligators, fish, birds and unspoiled Florida. But, you have to be still enough to find it. A true highlight! Definitely a favorite spot of mine.
What a gorgeous portrait of these two intrepid travellers! Louise and Ken @weezilou have been so lucky meeting up with you Danette- another successful 365 meet-up! You have taken them to the best places where the ordinary tourist would never find! Sounds like you have all had such fun!
Your wonderful description of this location (and how we got there!) is just perfect! You turned a ho-hum hop from FL to the remainder of our trip into a genuine highlight! You suggested a longer stay would be worthwhile, and The Gift at *every stop* was never on our radar! A million thanks, Danette! We hate to leave!
@Weezilou I was just at my doctor's, who is an avid photographer. He's never been to Loop Road! Never heard of it. Glad to have shared such a place with you.
@danette Somehow missed your notes until now! Understand that Ken and I were the most fortunate to have been welcomed by the lovely people we'd only come to know across the keyboard! I'm delighted we were given the keys to this amazing location, and your doctor will love the worthwhile visit when he drops by! It's easy to see how the area might be overlooked without a guide!
