This is my son at the summit of Hamlin. Unfortunately, we did not make it the summit of Katahdyn. My friend Orv turned around as we headed up Saddle Trail with leg cramps. At the top of Saddle Trail, I started to have problems putting weight on my right leg. My son and I decided to take the park rangers advice and descend from Hamlin because it was not as steep as Saddle. This proved to be a mistake.
