Continuing my series of LED lamps that no doubt don't have much interest to most people, this one is something of an odd one out. It's an LED lamp, but one with a frosted, phosphor coated shield. The result is that it gives a very even light across a big range of angles (and hence it's probably the least photogenic of all our LEDs), at the expense of efficiency. It's still not bad, don't get me wrong — it's a 9W LED that's brighter than the 60W spot that was in there originally and better in so many ways than 16W CFLs, it's just not quite as efficient as the other LEDs we have. It's all tradeoffs.
