We've come a long way since the Sony Walkman haven't we? Considering a 90 minute cassette probably held around 25 songs and the iPod holds thousands and thousands - i for one, wouldn't take a step back. I remember vividly, making my own mix tapes back in the 80's and conveniently having all my favourite songs loaded onto one cassette listening to it over and over again and getting slightly bored with the monotony of music being played - whilst also stretching the magnetically coated plastic tape with each turn of the spools.
I love the fact that on random, my iPod can play anything from Sinatra to Slipknot (and yes i do have one Slipknot track loaded onto it!) My entire music collection is at my fingertips which can also be connected to my car or home cinema system at less than it would take to load a CD or play a vinyl record.
Technology advances at incredible speed and that can be a scary prospect if thought about for too long, but this particular piece of technology (and my iPhone too - are more than welcome at my house) :)
@monkeykid :) It's great isn't it?! If I could travel back in time and tell myself about what was happening nowadays, i probably wouldn't have wasted so much time!
Nice shot! ..... nearly 13,000 songs on my i-pod classic ..... I too have slipknot - but no Sinatra ...... will Neil Diamond do? (not mine I hasten to add!) :D
It is great to be able to listen to my music on the iPad whilst I am looking at 365. Everything I need in one place. I certainly don't want to step back.
Neat shot Darren. I find it interesting that I really do not own to many gadgets like these. I suppose I would enjoy them if I had them but for some reason I just seem to get along nicely without them
@bkbinthecity hey maybe it's not a bad thing. Some things I wouldn't change for any piece of technology but being a music buff anything that stores and plays music at the push of a single button is fine by me :)
