Dramatic dereliction. by darrenboyj

Dramatic dereliction.

Well, after vowing to carry on with a shot daily again, family matters got in the way. My step dad was admitted to hospital after suffering a minor stroke, thankfully he's well on the way to a superb recovery.
The only problem is that he is in Brighton whereas I'm in Birmingham so you can probably understand the logistics involved in trying to help out as much as I can whilst relying on other family members (mainly my younger sister) to assist. Juggling two jobs hasn't helped either as I only have Saturdays off unfortunately.

However, all seems to be sorting itself out now and whilst down there I took some time out - just me and the camera and went snapping down on the beach. As you'll all probably know - I've taken plenty of shots down there before, but for me, it just cannot be beaten for the peace needed to soothe the mind.
Love the greatly captured dramatic effect in this shot. Great lighting and comp!
Good to hear from you again, Darren :)
Good luck with the family situation!

beautiful dramatic shot. So sorry to hear about your step-dad. Brighton seafront is a fab place to get away from it all though isn't it - I have been down there several times recently (but then I am only 1/2 an hour away!)

Glad it was minor and he's recovering. Some time alone with your camera to put your mind somewhere else was probably much needed. Beautiful shot

I'm so sorry... I did wonder where you'd gone too! I do hope your step dad makes full recovery, and a quick one too! My own father had cancer, so I know how taxing it is on the whole family, when one member is down and needing care and nursing! :) Hope it all works out well!

A wonderful moody shot. Sorry to hear about all the problems, but space with one's camera in a beautiful place can really be de-stressing.

Beautiful shot. Sorry to hear about your step dad. My mother had a minor stroke about 14 months ago. She recovered very quickly. It's a worry when relatives are getting older.
