Arriving in San Francisco

We had a wonderful vacation week. This is the last day of our vacation time so we drove into San Francisco and took my Mom to lunch. Then we took my sister to dinner in the South Bay Area and headed over the San Mateo Bridge, stopped at a friends house to let the traffic calm down and for a short visit and an easier drive home. A very long but fun day.

I love the view arriving in San Francisco not the traffic or the cost to live. A one bedroom apartment in San Francisco is currently $3,500 a month and they are building everywhere they can with rents for new places, soaring. Its crazy and affecting areas like we live, Sacramento County which is going up as well for rent and home purchases.
Yeah for trips to San Francisco.

@mittens Thank you, Marilyn. It was really nice to get away and had been too long. Did all we could in one day.

I didn't know you guys were on vacation. good for you and having a great time. it's hard to believe a one bedroom going for that much money. yes the rentals will automatically bring up the real estate market. here everything came to a still stand. we can't even get out apartment rented and ours is huge..asking $1,295 all inclusive. we're getting too close to winter. people don't like moving this late in the year.

@bruni We had a week off and it was so nice. It is so very expensive in the Bay Area and getting worse here too. I have no idea how people afford the high prices of rent. I did not know you cannot get your apartment rented. That is a great price for a nice private place to live. I think people move all the time here. How things have changed. I hope you and Hans are doing well.

@darsphotos Thank you, Darlene. we're doing ok. lots of work though. we decided for the time being to stay put. the real estate market has dropped and we wouldn't get enough money at this time to make it worthwhile. it all has to do with the interest rate and a lot of other things. Grace works for the last 35 years (she just had her anniversary a few days ago) as an administrator for a REMAX REAL ESTATE GROUP. btw Remax has offices in 95 countries. she is quite knowledgeable and says it's not the right time and better wait till Spring and see if the market picks up.

@bruni So glad the two of you are doing ok. It is too bad about seeing your house but at least you have your house and can stay put in it for now. How nice to have Grace to ask about this and her knowledge as well. She is a big help to you two and will let you know when to sell.

@bruni I am sure she is. Way behind on comments and posting. I have had two colds, well currently have one bad one at the moment. So many people sick including me. Working at healthy for Christmas. Cold here, 30 in the mornings but 60 mid day and sunny. Fires still burning in Southern California, they just lost a firefighter today as well. So sad and so much property loss as well. The smoke is wrapping around and coming onto the coast in San Francisco. I hope you and Hans are well. Big hugs to both of you.
