After training an AI tool with 10 of my headshots, it generated a new headshot of me that I had never seen before. But, can AI create completely unique and creative content? AI can certainly generate new content very well, but that is only a more complex way of copying and pasting existing knowledge, which is not what we traditionally recognize as creativity. Similarly, AI can execute a photo editing process by learning the best techniques and patterns from professional photographers, but it does not truly understand why those techniques are used in that way.
They create fascinating imagery, but it is not photography! The debate is happening everywhere, on social media, the news and also with the Royal Photographic Society.
