It's amazing that there is really only one tree in the complex that is Machu Picchu. While there, the clouds rolled in just as I spotted it, and I enjoyed editing this photograph with that sense of history in the foreground and the tree in the background, surrounded by the clouds. What an amazing place to visit.
(oops, hit return before I was finished) I love the mood you've created here. It made me think of the recent trip to Grand Canyon and despite all the beauty of the canyon, my favorite day was the one of snow and fog. I feel a similar reaction to this image -- it is so evocative and certainly not the expected shot of Machu Picchu.
